Only two days later!: Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons signed legislation approving another state symbol. This time Assembly Bill No. 180 declared Engine No. 40 of the Nevada Northern Railway an official state locomotive of the State of Nevada. Engine No. 40, built in 1910, is almost 100 years old.
Nevada has a state insect: Governor Jim Gibbons has signed legislation provided by Senate Bill No. 166 designating the vivid dancer damselfly as the "official state insect of the State of Nevada." Oklahoma House names song number six: The Oklahoma House of Representatives adopted House Resolution No. 1002 proclaiming "The Oklahoma Run" the state's "Land Run Song." "The Oklahoma Run" was composed by Harold Fletcher, Professor Emeritas as Oklahoma Christian University.
New Mexico chooses an official state cowboy song: and adopts an official state guitar as accompaniment.
